Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR Article 6, JiT relies on the following lawful bases to process your personal data:
Performance of a Contract (Article 6(1)(b))
The primary basis on which we process your data is to fulfil our contractual obligations to you. This includes processing your order, assigning a driver, completing delivery, and processing payment. Without this processing, we cannot provide the JiT service.
Compliance with a Legal Obligation (Article 6(1)(c))
We process certain data because we are required to do so by law. This includes retaining financial and transaction records for tax purposes (up to 7 years under UK tax law), cooperating with law enforcement when required, and meeting obligations under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.

We process certain data where we have a legitimate interest in doing so and that interest is not overridden by your data protection rights. Our legitimate interests include:
- Fraud prevention and platform integrity (including video evidence of deliveries)
- Dispute resolution and protecting the rights of customers, drivers, and merchants
- Platform performance monitoring and service improvement
- Security of our systems and infrastructure
- Driver performance and compliance monitoring
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to this processing. To exercise this right, contact us at support@jitapp.co.uk.
Consent (Article 6(1)(a))
Where we rely on your consent to process your data (for example, for push notifications and marketing communications), you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
